ASC Goes Medieval 2023
ASC goes Medieval 2023! Our 17th annual rally goes back 800 years to the middle ages. Doest thou speaketh Middle English? Doest thou wish to ride sturdy steeds to consume flagons of ale? Prepareth thy steed and don your garments for the feast days of: August 4 through August 7, 2023
RALLY ITINERARY
Saturday, August 5th
6:30pm Gather at Jane Bond BBQ 723 46 Ave SE #321, Calgary, AB T2G 2A4
Bring your well watered iron steed and carry $20 of currency of the realm to buy the rally sack with itinerary scroll, patch, sticker, and an amulet to ward off evil. You may also see a trebuchet in operation nearby.
8pm Mathew the Frank leads the wanderers for an in-city ride which ends up at the hall of Dan the Butcher for a pit of fire at approximately 9:00 PM.
Sunday, August 6th
10:30 AM Gain sustenance of ale and meat at the Pig & Duke Neighbourhood Pub 1312 12 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T3C 3P8
Harness your well watered steed in the ramparts just west of the pub off 12th Avenue. Watch for the sign and entrance on the north side of the avenue as you approach the pub from the west. You also get another chance to purchase a rally sack.
12:30 PM Spencer the Jester and Jessica of the Horses lead a quest to view the landmarks of Medieval Calgary.
6:00 PM Gather at the Queen of the Dairy 1403 8 St SW, Calgary, AB T2R 1B8 for refreshments, sustenance, and a quest for a magnificent prize. Follow the directions therein and provide proof using the magical box in your pocket. You can journey alone or in a group to share the spoils.
After 9:00 PM, follow the directions in the quest to Fisherman’s Hall in the realm of the of the Western Gate where much merriment will occur. Pilgrims on the quest will be judged by Gary the Elder according to their thinking and speed skills.
Monday, August 7th
10:30 AM Journey to the Red Crown Pub, 20-523 Woodpark Blvd SW Your last chance to purchase a rally sack to seek the rewards therein.
12:30 PM David the Fisherman will lead a ride to more landmarks of Medieval Calgary.
OR 12:30 PM Philip the Swift will lead a long fast ride to the Southwestern boroughs.
4:30 PM Royal Canadian Legion Branch 275 at 755 40 St SE, Calgary, AB T2A 5G3 show your knightly scroll for ale and slop, participate in games of skill in the field of horses nearby. There will also be a chance to win valuable items with purchased Tickets. Finally, knightly awards will be conferred with the royal sword of the ASC.
Later…. Follow Howard the Steady to his pit of fire in the dale of the Abby
9:30 AM Vendome Café 940 2 Ave NW, Calgary, AB T2N 0E6 to bid farewell and Godspeed to the travelers from the far-off realms returning to their homelands.
11:00 AM Follow Gary the Elder as he leads a spirited ride to Sammy’s Hall of delicious chops at 3153 34 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2B 2M6
