ASC's Excellent Adventure

Hey dudes and dudettes, are you ready for a totally tubular scooteriffic rally? then see you at the ASC's excellent adventure!! this 80's themed rally will be our 17th annual rally and sure to be of the outmost awesomeness! attend this excellent adventure sporting your gnarliest glam suds or maybe just that retro pastel one piece, even if your just gonna relax in that fashionable comfort wear for them 80's square types that's cool, as long as everyone is most excellent to each other. they'll be chillaxing rides, bodacious prizes, rad people and sick games. cowabunga!!


RALLY ITINERARY

Friday, July 29th


6:30pm Meet up at Eighty-Eight Brewing (#1070 - 2600 Portland St SE)
 
We have the upstairs booked for us. Order some food - we’ve promised a minimum spend for the private space.
 
9pm Ride led by Mathew Cronier, to end at his fire pit.
 
Saturday, July 30th


10:30am Brunch at Il Forno Fusion (#124- 500 Royal Oak Dr NW)
 
You also get another chance to buy a rally pack here.
 
12:30pm Ride led by Bob Clark and Andrew Burns. This 80km all-day ride will take you from highs to lows. Leaving from Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge (11300 Rocky Ridge Rd NW) with kick stands up at 1pm. Gather together at the highest point in Calgary before an 80 km downhill run to the lowest point in Calgary. Halfway, hang out at Superblend Stop-n-Glow (Ramsay) where water & bbq hotdogs will be provided (~3:00 – 4:21). There will be gymkhana during the ride, challenges, view points and gas stops along the way. Check out the Rever QR codes for stop and location times. Meet the ride along the way or come and go as you please. The ride concludes at its lowest point (the Burns’ house)
 
7pm-ish Ride ends at Andrew and Christine Burns’ backyard for a fire pit and an open jam
 
Sunday, July 31st


10:30am Brunch at Kildare’s Ale House (#1202 - 19369 Sheriff King St SW) Your last chance to buy a rally pack.
 
12:30pm Choose Your Own Adventure: The long/fast ride, hosted by Gary Fisher and Tom Edwards and leaving at 12:30 sharp. Travel along some spectacular rural paved roads down to Turner Valley with a visit to one of the only actual river fords in Alberta. After stopping for a quick Mexican soda at Moto Burrito, the ride takes a short shot up the Cowboy Trail to Millarville and then heads northwest through some great foothills vistas to Bragg Creek. After a gas stop at the Shell station, Tom will show us the sights of hidden Bragg Creek and then stop at The Barn to see how great rural life just outside Calgary can be. After hanging out for a short while, the ride will continue back to Calgary to end up at the Legion in Forest Lawn for the 1988 Olympic closing ceremonies. The ride is expected to cover about 160 km and last 4 hours with breaks.
 
OR Slow ride (in-city) hosted by Mathew Cronier, Spencer and Annaliisa, is for the slow pokes, the break downs, the check out the view-ers. This ride is for the ones that aren’t quite sure about riding sometimes because of their speed. This ride will have lots of stops. This ride will cruise around the inner city of Calgary. This ride may stop for some frisbee, for a quick dip in the river, some beach volleyball, who knows? But this ride is one thing for sure, relaxing, dudes and dudettes
 
5pm Closing Ceremonies: Legion 275, Forest Lawn (755 40th Street SE) Check in with the Sharla when you arrive to get your dinner ticket. Rally awards and raffle prizes, Horseshoes and other parking lot games, scooter riding parking lot games.
 
9pm Fire pit at Spencer and Annaliisa’s place
 
Monday, August 1st


11am Vendome Cafe (940 2 Ave NW) We see off the out-of-towners and then go riding.
 
12pm Ride, led by Spencer Kennedy, ending at Sammy’s Chophouse (3153 34 Ave SE)
